This workshop is designed to assist veterans to achieve mindfulness through the practice of yoga. We will go through a series of physical poses and breathing exercises in hopes of establishing a stronger sense of body awareness and trust for oneself. Veterans will learn different ways to calm their mind while focusing on being more present and listening to their own body.
Tamara Teragawa began studying yoga at the age of 24 and immediately fell in love. Over the past five years, she became a 500-hour RYT with training in a variety of styles of yoga including: vinyasa, power, aerial, yoga therapy, restorative, yin, chair, senior and children’s yoga. She is a level I Reiki practitioner, hoping to eventually reach her mastership. Tamara has been with the Diavolo Institute for three years, and worked with the first phrase of the Veteran’s Project. She thoroughly enjoys combining her passions of dance and yoga to help heal and bring peace to anyone she can.
